The City of Mississauga is hosting a Living Green Event on April 7th that includes worshops, lunch and activities for people looking to improve the local environment. There are events tailored to different age groups and audiences, so there is something for everyone.

9:30 am – 11:00 am IMAGINING MISSISSAUGA’S ENVIRONMENTAL FUTURE
Are you a Youth or Older Adult in Mississauga? If so, this session is for you!
After a quick briefing on Mississauga’s Living Green Master Plan, over an hour will be dedicated to discussing how youth and older adults travel around Mississauga today, and what it will take to get people to make changes in their travel habits in the future.
Light snacks and refreshments will be served, and free transit tickets will be available!
11:45 am – 2:00 pm LEADERS LUNCHEON – Managing without Growth & Retrofitting Suburbia
This free luncheon is for business leaders, City staff, leaders of community organizations and others interested in BIG picture thinking.
Hear from Prof. Ellen Dunham-Jones (Georgia Tech) and Prof. Peter Victor (York University) – two leading environmental visionaries. Ellen will talk about strategies for Retrofitting Suburbia drawn from across North America and Peter will discuss his world renowned ideas on how to manage without growth.

6:30 pm – 8:30 pm PUBLIC CONSULTATION WORKSHOP on the Living Green Master Plan
The City of Mississauga is developing its first environmental master plan called the Living Green Master Plan. Come learn about the Plan, and help identify what residents can do to change the way we move people and build buildings to reduce our environmental impact. Tell us what the City can do to encourage changes in behaviour.
Refreshments will be served!
10:00 am – 6:30 pm ENVIRONMENTAL EXHIBITION
Drop by to visit over 25 environmental booths and displays, along with an environmental art show featuring the talents of local students.
Space is limited. Registrations accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
