If it was up to me, I would like to spend my Sunday on the couch watching the NFL playoffs but alas, the 12 week challenge continues. After taking my two oldest boys to swimming lessons, lunch and getting the baby down for a nap, Stephanie and I break out the food charts and start the fun task of planning all of our meals for the week.
Planning meals for 1 person or a couple is hard enough but throw 3 kids in the mix and it gets pretty complicated. Kids are picky so figuring out what we can eat that is meal plan approved that the kids will also eat so we don’t spend all of our free time running a short order kitchen is a tall order.
In terms of grocery stores, while they all claim to be the same, there is actually a difference in the quality of food you get from one to another. My favourite grocery stores to shop at in Mississauga are Highland Farms, Longo’s and Michelangelo’s. I try to stay away from the big chains as I don’t find the quality of their produce to be good. On this day we headed to Highland farms because they have an awesome selection of meat and produce.
Aside from some nuts and a few things for the baby, everything we bought expires. I guess food that lasts for months isn’t that good for you after all.
Did I mention that my wife wants to do another kitchen reno to fit a larger fridge? This 12 Week Fitness Challenge is costing me more and more everyday!
It turns out that shopping for a full week is a workout in and of itself!
